UNDERGRADS WELCOME AT ASA MEETINGS – HERE'S
HOW TO COME TO OUR NEXT MEETING!
Where: San Diego, CA
When: Oct 31 - Nov 4, 2011
What: National ASA meetings bring together
students, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge
and exchange ideas on acoustics. Students are welcome to
attend the entire meeting, or just spend a day attending
sessions or social events.
Why: This is a great way to jump-start
your acoustics career, interact with professional
acousticians, and to learn more about acoustics in general.
How: Free meeting pre-registration (see
below) offered to undergraduate students! Student
transportation subsidies are also offered to offset travel
costs. Just complete the following by the listed dates and
you’re in!
Where's the party: There is a Student Orientation
Session that will take place on Monday, Oct 31, from 5:00 - 5:30 pm, just before the Student
Icebreaker. This will be a chance to meet other undergrads
at the meeting, early on in the week.

It’s OK! Well, travel might cost you a little extra, but you can still
register on-site with student ID for just $25 (ASA Member) or $75 (Non
Member).

Summer research program for undergraduates in Speech and
Hearing Sciences at Indiana University
TRAINING FOR RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC CAREERS IN COMMUNICATION SCIENCES
(TRACCS)
is a 6-week intensive research program for that is run by faculty in
the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at Indiana
University for the
purpose of increasing the number and diversity of students in pursuit
of academic careers in the field of communication sciences and
disorders. Students from under-represented groups (African American,
Latino, American Indian and Asian American, first generation college)
are especially encouraged to apply.
